Oakland Marathon
The 2025 Oakland Marathon will be held on Sunday, March 23rd. There will also be a short kid's fun run the day before around noon. Mike Pompa KB6MP is coordinating amateur radio support for the 12th year and is looking for volunteer operators.
The assignments are: Course Marshals, Net Control, Scribe, SAG Vehicle (Support and Gear, driving your own vehicle), Bicycle Mobile, Motorcycle Mobile, and Race Director Shadow.
This public service event has plenty of documentation for new hams and GMRS licensees as well as a wide variety of assignments for veteran operators. Some assignments have flexible start/stop times. Just let Mike know what your prior experience is and what kind of commitment you can make.
